Performance regressions in testsuite from join points

Need to look at some modest performance regressions for the main join-point patch (#12988 (closed), wiki SequentCore):

perf/compiler/T9961: bytes_allocated
perf/compiler/T13056: bytes_allocated
perf/compiler/T1969: max_bytes_used
