Number optimisation passes, introduce -ddump-<n> flag that dumps Core output after pass n
It is quite tiring to remember all the different -ddump- flags. And when you have pin-pointed a pass in -v
the Core output of which you want to audit, then often you have chance but to pass -dverbose-core2core.
IMO, it would be much nicer if we had a -ddump- flag that simply outputs the Core after auto-incrementing pass number n
. The number will not be stable between major compiler versions, not even between invokations of the same compiler version but with different flags (e.g., -O1 vs. -O2), but it doesn't matter much. All I want is a way to say "give the Core at this point in -v
". Of course, -v
has to show that number accordingly.
