[Question/Feature request] Plans for being able to select gmp vs integer-simple without recompiling ghc

Currently, as far as I understood from the ghc 9 changelog, I still cannot change whether I'm using gmp or not, without recompiling ghc.

Am I wrong, and if not, are there any plans to implement such a thing?
