Running hlint on compiler/ is very slow

The performance of hlint seems really quite bad. Running the ./hadrian/lint command with -j4 I see all my capabilities maxed out at 100% usage. It takes 2 minutes to run the target (which is much longer than it takes GHC to compile the same modules with -fno-code, 18s).

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
