This is GCC 4.0.1 on Intel Mac with -O; this bug started manifesting somewhere around August.
Also, this bug does not manifest with -threaded RTS, and only breaks with the vanilla RTS. JaffaCake++ suggested it may have something to do with FFI callbacks.
