# Mailing lists and IRC
GHC developers hang out on email, IRC, and GitLab. You're already on GitLab. :) Here's more information about the other two.
## Mailing Lists
GHC developers hang out on the [ghc-devs mailing list](http://www.haskell.org/mailman/listinfo/ghc-devs).
The [ghc-devs mailing list](http://www.haskell.org/mailman/listinfo/ghc-devs) is suitable for contributors and users of GHC. Topics are usually advanced, but any discussion of GHC is welcome.
There is also [ghc-tickets](http://www.haskell.org/mailman/listinfo/ghc-tickets), which receives a copy of traffic from the bug tracker, and [ ghc-commits](http://www.haskell.org/mailman/listinfo/ghc-commits), which receives a copy of all commit messages.
The traffic levels vary quite a bit depending on how much activity there is.
A more general-purpose Haskell mailing list is [haskell-cafe](https://www.haskell.org/mailman/listinfo/haskell-cafe).

## IRC
GHC developers also hang out on `#ghc` channel on [libera.chat](https://libera.chat/). This is a good place to ask questions related to working on GHC itself.

GHC developers also hang out on `#ghc` channel on [libera.chat](https://libera.chat/) (not freenode). This is a good place to ask questions related to working on GHC itself; if you have more general questions then `#haskell` is probably more appropriate.
Similar to the mailing lists, there is also a more general-purpose IRC channel, `#haskell`.
Chatlogs can be found at ???(~~[http://ircbrowse.net/browse/ghc](http://ircbrowse.net/browse/ghc)~~ currently serves irrelevant ads) |
If you are unfamiliar with IRC, start at https://libera.chat/guides/clients and try one of the web clients. You can also try [connecting via Matrix](https://matrix.to/#/#ghc:libera.chat), so you don't lose any messages when you close the app. |
