Due to a large amount of spam we do not allow new users to create repositories, they are "external" users. If you are a new user and want to create a repository, for example for forking GHC, open a new issue on ghc/ghc using the "get-verified" issue template

GHC invents new qualifiers when outputting names with `-XExplicitLevelImports`
## Summary ```haskell {-# LANGUAGE ExplicitLevelImports, NoImplicitPrelude #-} module T26616 where import quote Data.Maybe qualified as Q import splice Data.Maybe qualified as S foo = Q.isJust ``` Compiling this outputs ``` T26616.hs:7:7: error: [GHC-28914] • Level error: ‘S.isJust’ is bound at levels {-1, 1} but used at level 0 • Available from the imports: • imported qualified from ‘Data.Maybe’ at -1 at T26616.hs:5:1-39 • imported qualified from ‘Data.Maybe’ at 1 at T26616.hs:4:1-39 | 7 | foo = Q.isJust | ^^^^^^^^ ``` talking about `S.isJust` which doesn't exist. This happens because we're dropping the information about the originally importing module and then try to reconstruct it based on the modules that are in scope. ## Steps to reproduce - compile the above program with ghc >=9.14.1. ## Expected behavior Should talk about the actual qualification ## Environment * GHC version used: 9.14.1 Optional: * Operating System: linux * System Architecture: x86_64
