HEAD@d71b65f53a panics: ``get_op (--$)''

(Note that 7.10.1 works as expected)

This one line generates a panic:

panic = GarbageConstructorName $ a --$ b

(in an otherwise blank file, when passed to ghc or ghci. Just the right hand side panics ghci interactively.)

Error message:

ghc-stage2: panic! (the 'impossible' happened)
