getMBlocks: misaligned block returned

darcs 1.0.8 uses a lot of memory. On windows the command below (official compiled darcs, I'm not sure about ghc version) works on one Machine (Windows Server 2003) and aborts on Windows XP with the message below:

darcs +RTS -M1750M -RTS optimize --reorder-patches

darcs.exe: getMBlocks: VirtualAlloc failed with: 8 

darcs.exe: internal error: getMBlocks: misaligned block returned
