Consider turning on -xt by default when profiling
The -xt
option shows how much memory is occupied by threads. This includes the main stack which can get quite large if you have a certain type of space leak in your program. (http://neilmitchell.blogspot.com/2015/09/detecting-space-leaks.html) It seems less surprising to have it turned on by default and have an option to disable it rather than leave people wondering about why there are allocations missing from the heap profile.
