ghc: internal error: Invalid Mach-O file

I am running Mac OS 10.5.8 on a PowerPC processor.

$ cabal --version
cabal-install version 0.10.2
using version 1.10.2.0 of the Cabal library 
$ ghc --version
The Glorious Glasgow Haskell Compilation System, version 7.0.4
$ machine
ppc7450

cabal install yesod-core fails with

Loading package wai-logger-0.1.4 ... linking ... ghc: internal error: Invalid Mach-O file:Address out of bounds while relocating object file
    (GHC version 7.0.4 for powerpc_apple_darwin)
