This page has [ moved to the GHC wiki](http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/ghc/wiki/ViewPatterns), so that anyone can edit it.
The Haskell Prime wiki is only committee-writable, for good reasons, but I'd like to open this proposal to improvement by anyone, since it is not (yet anyway) a serious contender for Haskell Prime.
