Undocumented changes to Word16 in GHC 9.2.1

I'm looking for an explanation for https://github.com/fpco/streaming-commons/issues/68.

I've been looking at:

The last page finally contains a hint:

TODO: Mention Int{8,16,32}#/Word{8,16,32}#-related changes

It would be nice if these changes were documented properly.

I'm wondering whether it would be helpful if the release management duties would be spread among more people. I think if there was a "release reviewer" in addition to the release manager, issues like this one could be caught before the actual release.
