panic! while compiling xmonad config
Summary
after installing XMonad and xmonad-contrib on ubuntu from apt, error is thrown upon trying to reload xmonad after updating xmonad.hs. Reasonably sure that the error isn't due to an error in the config file, because it's currently just an unedited example file downloaded directly from the wiki.
`Errors detected while compiling xmonad config: /home/____/.config/xmonad/xmonad.hs $ ghc --make xmonad.hs -i -ilib -fforce-recomp -main-is main -v0 -outputdir /home//.cache/xmonad/build-x86_64-linux -o /home//.cache/xmonad/xmonad-x86_64-linux ghc: panic! (the 'impossible' happened) (GHC version 8.8.4 for x86_64-unknown-linux): Prelude.chr: bad argument: 335544322
Please report this as a GHC bug: https://www.haskell.org/ghc/reportabug
Please check the file for errors.`
No changes in the config file will be expressed (i.e. changing border width or color, etc).
Not sure exactly how to reproduce, because could be due to any number of factors. Since reloading is something everyone on xmonad would use, I imagine this is rather rare and possibly due to package versions from my own computer.
Currently running ubuntu 21.04, installed xmonad without stack or cabal but directly from apt.
