Adjust base bounds and change default benchmark set

I've also updated the default benchmark set to remove a few of the less stable ones. We didn't run them in the old make system so this just reverts to the former default. The instability of these benchmarks for low-medium amounts is just not good enough to be worth it.

Also bump base because it seems to work just fine with the higher version.
