Also adds ellipsis to lines in *.out files.

Fixes #5587.

This test was leaving a 'Main' executable behind. Since we don't ever
actually run it, just check that the compilation succeeds, we can drop
it anywhere and avoid that.

A little refactoring in handling UTF8, it's validated as a preprocess
step, so consequent steps can simply use lenient streams.
