Error when ~/.ghcup is a symlink

Since the ~/.ghcup directory can get really large and my home directory is on a small SSD, I have it symlinked to external storage. This used to work in previous versions, but after todays update (haven't updated for some time before that), I get the following error on every run of ghcup:

ghcup: /home/someone/.ghcup: createDirectory: already exists (File exists)

To upload designs, you'll need to enable LFS and have an admin enable hashed storage. More information
